“Baumanns work combines a strong visual imagery with a high level of physicality, constantly approaching to fling the absurdities of human life inside out, using the tools of dance, humor and theatre.”
After working in several creations as artistic director and choreographer with a wider team of international artists, Baumann dedicates his latest work to the launch of a solo show in 2020/21, called “7 Objects” (Working title).
The project is planned as a continuation as well as a deepening of his previous creative practice and research within the framework of the physical theatre projects he created over the last years: “The Wardrobe” (2018/19), “How things go” (2019/20) and “Marhaban” (2019/20).
“7 Objects” is merging different disciplines such as physical, dance and visual theatre with stage design composition and clownery into one clear eccentric movement formation, aiming to develop an original tragicomic style.
