BAU HOW - an interdisciplinary production at the intersection of construction, circus, and visual art
With BAU HOW, circus and theatre maker Felix Baumann returns to his roots: the craft of construction. At the heart of the piece lies the act of building itself: What if the creation of the (construction) work itself becomes the actual performative event? How does our perception of labor change when the process can be experienced as a poetic gesture?
Three performers transform a construction site into a dynamic playground where body, work, and play intersect. Simple materials, seemingly mundane work routines, rhythms, and accidents become the basis for daring acrobatics and poetic absurdity. Through its engagement with material and construction, BAU HOW reveals the creativity inherent in manual craftsmanship. Balancing workers' identity, construction-site humour, and playful interaction, the performance offers surprising perspectives on everyday life and labour.
